Begin by slicing off the ends (top and root) of your onion.
Then slice in half and peel. Discard all scraps in your stock/broth bowl for soup later in the week!
Make cuts that resemble slivers, or half moons, by placing the onion cut-side down and slicing at an angle from the outside to the middle (core) of the onion.
Continue until you’ve sliced up the entire onion. Slivers are great for stir fries or roasting.
